As required by Assembly Bill (AB) 2234, the below information is provided for residential post entitlement phase permits.
Post Entitlement Phase Permit Requirements
AB 2234 Eligibility - Applicants must demonstrate eligibility for review as a post entitlement phase housing permit by including the completed AB 2234 Eligibility Form with their permit application. The application is to be submitted to: planning@cityofsanteeca.gov. A written notice of determination will be provided to applicants within 15 days.

Project Status, Timelines and Reviews
Applicants and assigned "contacts" can view the status of their project through their SanteePortal.org account. All associated clients will be emailed whenever a status change has occurred.
Project of 25 units or less:
- First review - 30 days
- All subsequent reviews (including revision and deferred reviews) - 15 days
Project of 26 units or more:
- First review - 60 days
- All subsequent reviews (including revision and deferred reviews) - 15 days

Disclaimer: A mixed-use multifamily unit is defined by the City of Santee as an apartment building with 3 or more dwelling units, condominiums with 4 or more dwelling units above a commercial ground level. To date, the City has not issued any building permits for a mixed-use structure.
