NOTE - City Hall is open to the public, with restrictions. However, we still strongly encourage making an appointment so we can guarantee the best customer service possible. Drop in customers will be subject to wait times as we have limited capacity in the lobby. A face covering is required and you must maintain 6-foot social distance while conducting business at City Hall.
Community Services performs a wide range of duties to enhance the city's quality of life, foster a sense of community and keep city facilities in good shape. It's the home of our Parks and Recreation Division, which produces special events and manages recreational programs. Community Services also manages digital communications, including the city website and social media like Facebook. The Public Services Division staffers are jacks-of-all-trades who maintain our public facilities, including parks, City Hall, storm drains and more.
Recreation Services provides programs, including seasonal youth camps in spring and summer. They operate the Santee Teen Center, the Santee Seniors 55-plus program and the Santee Skate Park. They offer low-cost classes aimed at enriching the lives of kids and adults. Our special events team hustles year-round to produce memorable community events, such as the Santee Salutes 4th of July celebration and a popular summertime concerts-in-the-park series.
The Recreation Services Manager is the staff liaison to the Santee Community Oriented Policing Committee.
Public Services is responsible for maintaining city parks, landscape maintenance districts, street trees and city infrastructure, including minor street repairs, street sign replacement and clearing storm drains before the rainy season. They come to the rescue whenever there are potholes, graffiti or vandalism.
