Types of Appointments
Power Red: A Power Red donation collects the red cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. These donors must meet specific eligibility requirements and have type A Neg, B Neg, or O blood.
Blood: The most common type of donation, during which approximately a pint of 'whole blood' is given. This type of blood donation usually takes about an hour.

Whole blood donations can only be made every 8 weeks? The last day to donate whole blood and still be eligible to participate in our blood drive is September 4th.
When you donate blood, your blood is tested for specific antigens that are needed to treat sickle cell disease. If your blood contains those characteristics, American Red Cross will let you know so you can help sickle cell patients by donating blood!
